Event name: Beyond the Policy: Building a Culture of Responsible AI Use in PR
Date:
November 4, 2026
Time: Noon – 1 p.m. PT
Location: Online via Zoom

Most agencies have written an AI usage policy. Far fewer have kept it alive. This session shares what a year of real-world AI governance actually looks like — not a static document filed away after rollout, but a living framework revisited and refreshed on a regular cadence to keep pace with how fast both the technology and the way teams use it keep changing.

Attendees will learn how embedding policy directly into everyday AI tools keeps accountability front and center — for legal protections, accuracy, strategic and brand alignment, bias, trust and intellectual integrity. But the deeper lesson from the past year is this: policy and training alone aren’t enough. The real work is cultural — building a way of thinking and working that goes beyond a list of do’s and don’ts, so sound judgment becomes second nature rather than a checklist to consult.

This session offers a practical, field-tested model for PR and communications leaders ready to move their AI governance from a one-time policy rollout to an evolving, values-driven practice.

Key Takeaways:

  • A model for treating an AI policy as a living document, including a practical cadence for revisiting it as tools, usage, and legal guidance evolves.
  • A method for embedding policy reminders directly into AI tools so accountability — for accuracy, brand alignment, bias, trust and intellectual integrity — stays visible in the moment of use, not just at onboarding.
  • Why policy and training alone fall short, and what it actually takes to build a genuine AI-augmented culture on top of them.
  • A framework for structuring AI use guidelines around shared values and concrete examples of appropriate versus inappropriate use, rather than abstract rules alone.
  • Practical starting points attendees can adapt to build or refresh their own organization’s AI governance approach.
  • Considerations for how to communicate AI policies to clients and/or partners.
